The Kosciuszko Foundation was pleased to present a tribute concert "DONNA" to a legendary Polish Opera Singer - Marcella Kochanska-Sembrich on her 160 Birthday Anniversary on Saturday, February 24, 2018.
The evening began when Ewa Zadworna Director of Cultura Events welcomed guests with a short introduction about Marcela Kochańska-Sembrich. The following speaker was Richard Wargo Artistic Director at The Marcella Sembrich Memorial Association recounted some interesting facts about her life.
Thereafter Metropolitan Opera Singers: Edyta Kulczak, mezzo-soprano and Dísella Làrusdóttir, soprano, performed to the accompaniment of Tadeusz Domanowski on piano, performing a specially selected repertoire for the evening:
The program ended with Edyta Kulczak singing Chopin's "Życzenie" ("The Maiden's Wish") which was Marcella a favorite song.
The concert received very good reviews by blogger Meche Kroop who is focused and writing about opera, theatre, and ballet:
