Second Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony

The Kosciuszko Foundation's Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony is the major fundraising activity supporting the educational and culture programs of the Northeast Ohio Chapter. The evening will celebrate Mr. Eugene Bak's dedication to the Polish-American community and his passion for Polish culture and heritage. Mr. Eugene Bak is the Founder and Executive Director of the Polish-American John Paul II Cultural Center and active member of the Kosciuszko Foundation.

The Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Kościuszko Foundation will also honor teachers and teaching assistants who have traveled from Ohio to Poland to volunteer their time and talents for the Teaching English in Poland Program last summer. Their contribution to the mission of fostering closer ties between Poland and the United States will be recognized with a certificate of acknowledgement for their participation in this important initiative.
Results of the Second Annual Historical Essay Contest will be announced and prizes will be awarded. Furthermore, Danielle Chmielewski, Ohio recipient of 2008 Tomaszkiewicz-Florio Scholarship for Summer Study in Poland, will be recognized. The Ohio recipients of the Kosciuszko Foundation Tuition Scholarship will be recognized as well. The awards ceremony will conclude with the Gourmet Dinner served by experts of Polish cuisine from the John Paul II Cultural Center.

A rich Artistic Program drawing from the treasures of Polish culture will follow. The program will consist of the piano recital by Konrad Binienda and the performance by the Polish Folk Ensemble of Cleveland "Syrena."
