Passport

A valid passport is needed for all travelers to Poland. If you do not have a passport, apply for one immediately. If your passport is expected to expire within 6 months of your arrival in Poland, it is time to renew your passport. Applications, instructions, and costs are available at post offices and on the Internet at http://travel.state.gov. Renew early to avoid service backlogs and expedited service fees.

You are expected to list your passport number on the Application Form. If you do not have a passport at the time of application it may be forwarded via e-mail at any time to teip@thekf.org. Please include your name as it appears on the passport and the expiration date.

Visas to Poland for tourist travel by U.S. citizens are not needed. Tourist travel is defined as travel that does not exceed 90 days. If you intend to stay in Poland for 90 days or more call the Polish Consulate nearest you for instructions on obtaining a visa or check the following website for details and information: http://www.polishconsulateny.org.

Airfare

Airfare is at the expense of the applicants accepted into the program. You will receive an official letter of acceptance containing information from Worldwide Travel PAT Tours with specific airline travel arrangements for the group. Round trip airfare from JFK to Warsaw is approximately $1,300.

If you make personal airfare arrangements you must meet the group on the specific day, time, and place designated by the American staff leader. Please review your travel plans prior to finalizing your reservation. All flights must arrive within a designated time frame to ensure all participants can be accommodated on the bus provided by the Polish Director.

Additional Expenses

Each individual  American staff leader will decide the gifting procedure for his/her camp.  If money is collected from each individual, it will be used to purchase gifts for Polish administrators and support staff at each camp. A small portion of the money may also be used for a gift for the bus driver.

Each staff member should bring approximately 15-20 small gifts designated for students in their group. Gifts which identify your hometown or school such as pencils, key chains, magnets, postcards etc. are recommended.

Incidentals (personal souvenirs, postcards, stamps, taxi fare) during your stay in Poland is approximately $300. ATM machines are available throughout the larger cities in Poland.

Room and Board are covered by our Polish hosts for the duration of the camp dates.
