Each year since the summer of 2016, a private couple in Wisconsin has generously donated funds to the Kosciuszko Foundation for scholarships to support Wisconsin students of Polish descent to study the Polish language and history through the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
The scholarship covers program fees for Session A, a 4-week program. Program fees include: tuition, a Polish language textbook, accommodation in double room, meals, tourist program as well as cultural program and a non-returnable fee). The Kosciuszko Foundation pays program fees directly to the Jagiellonian University on behalf of Wisconsin Scholarship winners.
Scholarship recipients are responsible for payment of the $75 registration fee and will be responsible for a report following the program.
Applicants for the Wisconsin Study in Poland Scholarship are:
high school seniors who are 18 by the first day of the program
undergraduate freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors
graduate students
American citizen of Polish descent
legal permanent residents of Polish descent (green card holders)
minimum GPA of 3.0 or better
Wisconsin resident
non-resident Wisconsin students who attend Wisconsin colleges and universities.
1. Complete the 2022 Summer Study Application Form.
Your on-line application reaches the Summer Study Office when you hit the submit button.
Please Note: Set aside about 30 -40 minutes to complete the on-line application form - the computer program will not allow you to save your answers, therefore you will not be able to continue at a later time. Except when electronic service is not available, such as the remittance of official transcripts by some high schools and colleges, it is suggested that you submit your supporting materials via email.
2. Submit the following supporting materials:

Official transcripts for the past two years inclusive of the Fall 2021 semester. The transcript may be sent in hard copy format or electronically. We can accept electronic transcripts from on-line services such as Transcript Network by Credentials Solutions, LLC; Transcript Services at Parchment; eScrip-Safe; and from the National Student Clearinghouse. An official transcript is a transcript that is sent by the school or the above services directly to the KF. We cannot accept transcripts submitted by students.
Two letters of recommendation from teachers or professors with whom you have studied recently. One of the letters can come from an officer or supervisor of an organization or club in which you are active or for which you volunteer. Letters must be written on university or organization letterhead. Please ask your recommenders to save their letters as WSIP22-Student's Last Name-First Name-LOR-Recommender's Last Name.
Essay/Statement of Purpose regarding why you wish to take part in the summer program. The essay/statement of purpose will be two pages, double spaced, printed on one side of the page only. The statement/essay must include your full name, WSIP2022 and a page number on each page of the essay.

Applicants will be informed of scholarship decisions via e-mail by the Summer Study Office in New York City.
Scholarship recipients will be required to submit a two page report after the program is completed.
Students who are not chosen to receive a scholarship may attend the program as paying students. Pay-to-go applicants must submit online application and forward registration and program fees to the KF Summer Studies Office in New York City.
