KEN IISAKA, pianist
Born in Japan, Ken Iisaka started taking piano lessons at age 4. He once dreamed of becoming a professional concert pianist, but computers captured his brain, if not his heart. He has spent over 20 years working as a software engineer at financial institutions, then more recently at a series of Silicon Valley start-up firms. Yet his love of piano and music is only increasing, after a particularly challenging and painful period. Despite suffering great losses, music has become an even stronger and faithful companion to his life.
