Trio Volo

Renowned for their dynamic interpretations and exciting performances, Trio Volo consists of three artists whose love of music brings impassioned performances to the concert stage.

Violinist Destiny Ann Mermagen, winner of international competitions and awards, regularly performs across the US, Europe and Russia. Destiny has worked with Dream Works and Paramount Pictures for Joe Wright's movie, The Soloist. She is featured in the Partisan Pictures film, Defiant Requiem, and on the chamber music soundtrack recorded in 2012. She has been involved in various musical and educational productions with both National and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras. Originally from South Dakota and in praise of her cowgirl roots, a recent barn-burner of her performance of the Franck Sonata was quoted in the Washington Post as "endearingly coltish."

Michael Mermagen, cello, made his debut at age sixteen with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra after receiving the BSO Young Soloist's Award. He appeared solo with the Juilliard Orchestra and the National Orchestra of New York, where he also held the prestigious Emanuel Feuermann principal cello chair. Mr. Mermagen spends his summers as Artist Faculty at the Aspen Music Festival where for 23 consecutive summers, he has performed as principal cellist of the Aspen Chamber Symphony He is currently associate professor of cello at The Catholic University of America.

Praised by critics in the U.K., Lithuania, Poland, Spain and the U.S., pianist Martin Labazevitch was born in Poland, studied at the Odessa Conservatory in Ukraine and the Manhattan School of Music where his principle teacher was Horacio Gutierrez. Currently he is finishing his DMA degree at the Catholic University in Washington DC with Jose Ramos Santana. He is a winner of numerous prizes and awards in Poland, Spain and the United States. Mr.Labazevitch appeared with top regional orchestras and solo performances in Spain, Poland, Lithuania, Israel, Japan as well as at the major music centers in the United States. He is currently on the piano faculty of the Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C.
