Let's Talk About Poland - The Third Conversation, with Judith Kelly

Judith Kelly is a Polish-American peace activist and nonviolence trainer who has documented the travels to the US and Canada of the recently beatified Father Jerzy Popieluszko (1947-1984), chaplain and martyr to the Solidarity Movement.
She will present her research on Fr. Jerzy's four visits to the United States between 1974 and 1981.
Judith Kelly,Arlington,VA,is a longtime member of Pax Christi, the international Catholic peace movement. In March 2011, she represented Pax Christi Metro DC/Baltimore in a peace mission to Afghanistan with Voices for Creative Nonviolence. Kelly helped organize several human rights delegations to Chile with School of the Americas Watch (SOAW), including this past September of 2013 to mark the 40th anniversary of the military coup.
In June 2010, she attended the beatification ceremony for Fr. Jerzy Popieluszko in Warsaw, Poland. She traveled to Poland April/May 2013 where she met members of the Popieluszko family, including 93-year-old Marianna Popieluszko (who passed on November 19, 2013).
Jerzy Popiełuszko (September 14, 1947 - October 19, 1984) was a Roman Catholic priest from Poland associated with the Solidarity Union. He was murdered by three agents of the Polish Secret Police who were shortly thereafter tried and convicted of the murder. He has been recognized as a martyr by the Catholic Church and was beatified on June 6, 2010.
