The Washington City Paper, which called last year's Edible Rex "one of the best shows at Fringe," wrote that "Feffer is a brilliant writer and performer–he's humorous, transportive, and when the production's done, you'll want to go and grab a meal with him." DC Theatre Scene called Edible Rex a must see and awarded it five stars, adding, "Feffer, whose Krapp's Last Power Point was one of the surprise delights of last year's Fringe, here shows a stronger hand as a performer to go along with his excellent writing."
The Bird runs approximately 90 minutes. It is directed by Doug Krehbel, who has directed numerous productions in North Carolina and appeared as an actor locally in The Real Inspector Hound at Metrostage and Cymbeline at the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company. The stage manager is Emma Strauss, a freelance teaching artist, director, and stage manager who is on faculty at Round House Theatre.
