An Evening of Sea Shanties

As a professional fisherman and PhD biologist, Jerzy Porebski first began learning traditional shanties to amuse himself on long ocean journeys. Eventually he started writing his own songs, and over time became an international shanty legend.

He will take us on a mysterious journey to distant seas long ago, where sailors sang to keep up their spirits and cast off fear and loneliness.

We will also show a short film about the artist.
