Adam Makowicz
*Jazz Legend, master of improvisation, piano virtuoso
*First time in Washington, DC since his performance in 1999 at the French Embassy in commemoration of 150th anniversary of Frederick Chopin's death
*Voted "Number One Jazz Pianist" by "Jazz Forum" magazine six years successively, listed as one of the best Polish jazz pianists of all time
*His discography includes more than 25 albums recorded as a leader and several more as a sideman (including Michal Urbaniak's "Constellation" and "Fusion" masterpieces)
*Performed solo recitals and concerts with orchestras such as the National Symphony of Washington, London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Moscow Symphony Orchestra or Warsaw Philharmonic
*His duet performance in September 2004 with Leszek Mozdzer at Carnegie Hall was exceptionally well received by the critics. This extraordinary "duet" between Adam, the piano Master veteran and (then) rising Polish jazz star, Leszek Mozdzer, has been released as a live album
Krzysztof Medyna
*Began his jazz career in the Students' Club of Szczecin University of Technology "Kontrasty"
*A student of Zbigniew Seifert - then still a saxophonist before switching to violin (Jazz Workshop in Chodzież, 1971
*A co-founder (with pianist Andrzej Winnicki) of "Breakwater" band in 1978 which won the First Prize at the "Jazz nad Odra Festival" in 1979
*On May 8, 1993, Krzysztof Medyna accompanied Czesław Niemen in a concert entitled "The Thirty Years of Bohemian Art Primer Czesław Niemen" at the Town Hall Theater in Manhattan, NY
*Co-founder, also with Andrzej Winnicki, of Komeda Project quintet (2003) with two critically acclaimed albums: "Crazy Girl" and "Requiem", both a tribute to Krzysztof Komeda, to his credit
*Currently Krzysztof Medyna is a co-lader, again with pianist Andrzej Winnicki, of WM Project, a septet whose album released in 2017 "From a Familiar Place" was selected an Album of the Month by Downbeat Magazine in February 2018
Adam Makowicz and Krzysztof Medyna have been collaborating as a duo for about four years specializing in their own interpretations of American jazz standards."
