Winner of the 61st Kosciuszko Foundation Chopin Competition, pianist Sun-A Park is rapidly establishing herself as one of the most outstanding young pianists of her generation. Sun-A Park has made her orchestral debut at age twelve performing Shostakovich's First Concerto with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has appeared frequently as a soloist with several orchestras including the Albany Symphony Orchestra, American Academy of Conducting Orchestra at Aspen, Juilliard Orchestra, Newark Symphony, Orchestra Sinfonica del Festival di Chioggia, and the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra. Her performance this season includes Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a theme by Paganini with Stephen F. Austin University Orchestra in Texas.

Sun-A has received international recognition in several competitions: first-prizes at the 2010 Schmidbauer International Piano Competition, Pacific International Piano Competition, and as a prizewinner in California International Young Artists Competition and the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition.

Sun-A received the Korean-American Scholarship Foundation Award for five consecutive years since 2005 and was an award winner at the 2006 National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts Recognition and Talent Search. At the Juilliard School, she is the recipient of Susan Rose Fellowship and holds a Teaching Assistantship in the Music History Department since 2008.

Sun-A's international career began with a recital at the Kumho Young Artists Recital in Seoul, Korea. Since then, she has been invited to perform at the Hoam Art Hall and Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Korea; Hamamatsu Act-City Concert Hall in Japan; Xiamen, China; Chiesa di Chioggia in Laguna, Italy; the Aspen Music Festival; the Music Academy of the West; the Peter Jay Sharp Theater, Alice Tully Hall, and Weill Recital Hall in New York; the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in New Jersey; and the Benaroya Hall in Seattle.

Born in Pusan, Korea, Sun-A began studying piano at the age of four with her mother and later studied with Seymour Bernstein of the New York University in New York. She enrolled at the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division at the age of nine and completed her undergraduate studies with Yoheved Kaplinsky at the Juilliard School. She is currently continuing further studies with Yoheved Kaplinsky and Matti Raekallio.
