Dr. Wojciech Drąg
Assistant Professor at the Institute of English Studies at the University of Wrocław
The Kosciuszko Foundation Scholar in the academic year 2018-2019, Dr. Wojciech Drąg has researched twenty-first-century examples of collage literature in the United States. During his three-month stay at Department of English, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, he worked under the supervision of Lance Olsen – experimental novelist, head of the FC2 publishing house and Professor of Creative Writing at Utah. Thanks to the Fellowship, Dr. Drąg was able to carry out a number of interviews with other collage novelists (including David Shields and Steve Tomasula) and prominent critics of contemporary American literature. In 2019, the outcome of the research conducted at Utah will be presented in the form of a book under the provisional title Art in/of Crisis: Collage Literature in the Twenty-First Century.
Dr. Wojciech Drąg is the author and co-editor of four academic books (including one on 2017's Nobel Prize laureate Kazuo Ishiguro) and of thirty other publications. He is deputy head of the Institute of English Studies at the University of Wrocław and a board member of the Polish Association for the Study of English.
