Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to invite you to the Kosciuszko Foundation 82nd Annual Dinner & Ball that will take place on Saturday, April 29th at the Grand Ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in NYC. While celebrating the Year of Thaddeus Kosciuszko, we take the opportunity to pay tribute to those whose stories and actions exemplify and carry forward the legacy of one of the greatest Polish and American Heroes.
As the President of the KF, it is my honor to recognize the commitment to the service and sacrifice of those who, as Thaddeus Kosciuszko in the past, volunteered and risked their lives to defend freedom and independence. The evening will include a presentation of the KF Medal of Recognition to Gen. Edward L. Rowny, a military commander in WWII, Korea and Vietnam War and advisor to five U.S. Presidents. We will also pay tribute to those who persevered through the cruelest conditions of war and exile to Siberia, who joined the Anders Army, fought the battle of Monte Cassino or in Warsaw Uprising, and who after the war took off the uniform to become leaders and public servants, building up our community. The Kosciuszko Foundation will proudly present the KF Pioneer Award to: Wincenty Knapczyk, Zbigniew A. Kruszewski, Ph.D., Wanda Lorenc and Mieczyslaw Madejski. The Ball will be chaired by Dorota Andraka, Ph.D., a long-time, dedicated and enthusiastic leader of the Polish Supplementary School Council (established, like the KF, in 1925), which provides education in Polish to young Poles on the East Coast.
From the humble beginnings of letters writing in a rented room, the KF has evolved into the organization with its own beautiful headquarters that makes a real impact on people's lives. The Foundation's programs and services are made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors and volunteers. You can contribute to its cause by being part of the upcoming Ball. We encourage you to take advantage of the sponsorship opportunities, to host a table with friends, purchase raffle tickets, or place an advertisement in the commemorative Ball journal to honor our distinguished guests. All proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the Foundation's mission.
Please join us on Saturday, April 29th for an evening of exquisite dining in the splendid Plaza Hotel in New York, where we will honor Polish heroes and raise funds that will support the future pioneers. The ticket includes a cocktail hour, dinner, open bar, dancing, and artistic performance.
For any information regarding the KF Ball, or to make a donation please contact us at (212) 734-2130 or development@thekf.org. Your contribution can make this day truly special!
Looking forward to hosting you at the Plaza Hotel.
