In his talk dr. Pudlocki  presents analysis of two short documentaries that discuss the transition from relative freedom of gay community in Germany during pre-Nazi era, the consecutive prosecution of homosexuals during holocaust and the effect the Nazi prosecution had on the lives of  survivors. The topic of homosexuals as Nazi victims is rarely discussed in depth, usually limited to a mention in the list of other targeted groups. However the topic presents an important piece in broader understanding of social and historical changes in attitudes toward homosexuals and underlining motivations of homophobia. The talk emphasizes the importance of capturing the experiences of the survivors, as a unique source of historical knowledge,  that becomes scarcer as the time goes by.
