ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

Jeffrey Ly (age 15) began his music studies at the age of 5 and Olivia Ly (age 13) began her music studies at the age of 3 at the European Academy of Music and Art (EAMA), Inc., Maryland with Professor, Dr. Bella E. Oster and Professor Roberto Perez. During the ten years of music education, they performed numerous solo piano concerts at many prestigious venues including government institutions such as White House, United Nations, State Department, U.S. Capitol, Pentagon, numerous embassies in Washington, DC, National of Institutes of Health as well as veteran, elderly, and children hospitals; Olivia and Jeffrey had also played at cultural houses such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie, NY; the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Lincoln Center, Strathmore, Goethe Institut, NY; and universities including Harvard, Columbia, Georgetown, and Cornell.

Apart from being renowned in the domestic arena, they are also recognized internationally. In the last five years they won many gold medals from the International Association for Musically Gifted Children (IAMGC), Inc., for best performances of pieces by F. Chopin, F. Liszt, J. S. Bach, L. v. Beethoven and R. Schumann, etc. In 2003 and 2004, they were awarded with gold medals from the Music Teachers Association International, Inc.; won first places in the Bartók-Kabalevsky-Prokofiev International Piano Competition (2001 and 2003); in 2001, they received first places at the "Concours International De La Musique".
