The Director, Mieczyslawa Wazacz, was trained as a filmmaker at the Polish Film School in Lodz and is a playwright, scriptwriter, and experienced filmmaker. She is the author and director of documentary and art films for Polish Television, the most acclaimed of which are: The Mask and the Crown (1996), Zygielbojm (1997), The Ultimate Sacrifice (1998), The Wall (2001), Tola Korian and Her Theatre (2006), No Ordinary Countess (2011). In addition, she has written several plays, including: Russian Roulette, Marathon, The Flower of the War, and Messiaen and His Angel (scheduled for production in Toronto in 2013).
