Kristina Wirkowski - Violin Recital

Kristina Wirkowski is a fourteen-year-old violinist from Glen Cove, New York. She got her start through the Suzuki music program at age four under the guidance of Mrs. Cecele Miller. She has been studying at the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College Division for four years, since she was ten years old. She has also been a student of Kinga Augustyn for the past three years. Kristina has attended various summer music festivals including the Luzerne Music Center, the Zenon Brzewski International Music Courses in Lancut, Poland, and most recently, the Aspen Music Festival where she spent eight weeks studying with Naoko Tanaka. She has performed at the Polish Consulate in New York City, the Kosciuszko Foundation, and frequently donates her time to various charities such as the Polish Gift of Life, the Polish American Museum, the Polish Friends of Copiague and the Roslyn Historical Society. She is currently a student at the Portledge School on Long Island, where she has been the concert mistress of her school orchestra for three years. She has consecutively received perfect scores from her NYSSMA evaluations for the past three years. Aside from violin, Kristina enjoys swimming, cooking, and reading.
